Description: In a time when Americans' constitutional rights are under siege, the Pacific Legal Foundation (PLF) is one of several organizations that are fighting in the courts on behalf of freedom and liberty. On Monday, May 15th, the Conservative Republicans of San Joaquin County will host Wencong Fa, a staff attorney in the Pacific Legal Foundation’s National Headquarters in Sacramento. He will speak on his representation of a Nebraska Tea Party leader in his petition to get the Supreme Court to protect his First Amendment rights, and about warrantless snooping of houses in southern California. Wen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas, a Master’s Degree in Political Theory from the London School of Economics, and a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. As a member of the UT-Dallas moot court team, Wen was a regional quarterfinalist and won a top orator award. At the University of Michigan Law School, Wen participated in the Federal Appellate Litigation Clinic, and was a research assistant for Professor Richard Friedman. Wen is licensed to practice law in Texas, California, and several federal courts. Prior to joining PLF, Wen worked for the Human Rights Initiative in Dallas and the Institute for Justice in Austin. Wen is the founder and President of the Sacramento Chapter of the America’s Future Foundation, and a board member of the Sacramento Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society. Our meeting will be held at Mimi's Cafe in Stockton, located at Pacific and Robinhood. Dinner hour and networking will begin at 5:30 PM, and the meeting with Wen will begin at 6:30. We will also be holding our monthly raffle, and we'll share opportunities for folks to get involved in our area. Don't miss this exciting meeting on how to protect our constitutional rights, and bring a friend!
