Lately I have not bothered to check most of what Mr. Aquila writes, given the misinformation that I found when I did find the time to do some research.
I will point out that the letter about forced sterilization is a rewording of an opinion piece that is widely distributed on right wing websites. At least Mr. Aquila's effort was not outright plagiarism this time. I suppose that is progress of a sort.
Not that right wingers care much about the truth when it contradicts their unique view of the world, but here is an analysis of the forced sterilization claims as published on Politifact which classifies the claim with its highest lie rating of "pants on fire". And of course as we all know, any source or website that debunks right wing lies is immediately classified as a liberal rag not to be trusted.
I am not sure why the Bulletin continues to publish blatant lies without bothering to do a few minutes worth of research.
Google the phrase "sterilizing the entire population by adding infertility drugs to the nation's water and food supply." and you will get dozens if not hundreds of hits. Not only do they lie. They parrot the lie word-for-word demonstrating a startingl inability to engage in independent thought.
I have also included a link to one of the many right wing websites that repeats the lies about forced sterilization, as well as a link to Mr. Aquila's blog entry.
Actually this particular lie is old news. It first appeared over a year ago, as did the analysis from Politifact.
I am pretty sure that some who read this exchange will say, Frank is sure getting a rise out of those libs, he must be telling the truth! Not quite. As far as this liberal is concerned, what is worse than propgating lies is to remain silent about the truth. I will not be silent.
Right wingers are liars. I will not be silent in the face of their lies. I do promise that whenever I make such an accusation, I will back it up with facts. Those little things that are usually absent from their published tirades.

""But with regard to Beck's claim that Holdren "has proposed forcing abortions and putting sterilants in the drinking water to control population," the text of the book clearly does not support that. We think a thorough reading shows that these were ideas presented as approaches that had been discussed. They were not posed as suggestions or proposals. In fact, the authors make clear that they did not support coercive means of population control. Certainly, nowhere in the book do the authors advocate for forced abortions""
I thought it was strange that the Modesto Bee and Tracy papers ran his letters but now we find out Dennis is but no longer posting them on the internet, this is so we can not able to debate their BS.
This is just another reason I stopped buying it.
Larry, I have not really noticed any changes since I quit buying the poor excuse of a newspaper some time ago.
It comes down to those who believe the BS that the paper presents are happy with the remarks and letters that they read. Anyone who has the capacity to think for themselves quit reading it a long time ago.
ycdi: We can always rely on the town racists to chime in with little to no intelligence what so ever, and here you are.
Talk about conspiracy theorists, lets see what the simple minds on the right have come up with; Obama has a reverend who will dictate what the president does, Obama is a Muslim, Obama is a socialist, there will be death panels, Obama is going to raise our taxes, he is going to take away our guns, the deficits were started by Obama, The TARP was started by Obama, and my all time favorite right wing conspiracy of all times... WMD's.
So when it comes to calling people stooges, no one is as good at being as stooge as the racist You Can Do It.
Yep, I noticed that they stopped the opinions too. I kind of miss them, but my blood pressure is probably better without them.
As to the comments about Muslims, I have a couple of questions. If people think that America is a "Christian nation," wouldn't that mean that Christians were responsible for the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Should Christians, even those from Japan, be allowed to open churches in the hallowed places?
Momo,
As usual, you are making sense. Sense went out of style back around 2001, so this makes you one of those "retro" people, always living in the past.
The list is long of the things this country does and has done all the while claiming this as a Christian nation. I am no believer in the Christian religion, but I am seeing more and more credence to there only being 144,000 going to heaven according the the scriptures. Based on how un-Christ like those who claim the religion are, I can see a lot of rejection notices at the pearly gates.
Too bad the letters aren't being posted, Karen Pearsol had a great rebuttal to the McComas rant in today's paper.
