More recently, in a story about the "large crowds" at Sarah Palin's book signing events, it turns out that the video footage showing those crowds actually came from McCain/Palin 2008 campaign events.
Perhaps the Fox News Network needs a name change; Fox Fiction Network.
Has a nice ring to it, and is certainly far more accurate.
Several years ago, Dan Rather made the mistake of not checking and verfying the accuracy of his sources. He was fired from CBS.
So, no.. the other networks do not all do it. The other networks are journalistic oranizations. Fox is a political cheerleader. Fox railed against other media outlets for not adequately covering (in their opinion), the Teaparty gathering in Washington DC. How could they ignore thousands of Americans, they breathlessly inquired?
But when an equal number (75,000) of gay people protest in Washington a few short weeks later, the only coverage from Fox is a minute or two of a borrowed feed from ABC.
When it comes to true journalism, John Stewart and the Daily Show stands head and shoulders aboveFox.

Fox News dedicated hours to coverage of tea party protests in Washington D.C. but ignored the National Equality March for gay rights. The Daily Show's Jon Stewart wants to know why.
Stewart blasted Fox News last night for covering nearly every anti-tax tea party protest (including one a producer riled up to get ready for a shot) but not sending anyone to cover the recent gay rights march on Washington.
Counting the minutes Fox devoted to the march, Stewart's staffers found that the network had devoted just four minutes -- despite the fact the protesters numbered 75,000 strong.
Fox didn't even send a camera crew.
"You didn't even send your own camera crew?" Stewart exhorted. "You have a Washington bureau. Tell them to go the window and point the camera down. Gay people aren't vampires. They show up on camera."
FoxNews caters to the National Enquirer crowd. It doesn't need to be true, just needs to be negative. Foxnews has an audience of approximately 3.5 million people, or about 1% of the population. This means they are catering to the fringe. Unbalanced people who feel they are left out of the system.
