Race cards that is.

In the unending debate over who injects race into debates where race has nothing to do with the subject at hand, I think the best policy is to let words and deeds speak for themselves.

My own opinion is that people who agreed with Rush Limbaugh that a three time Pro Bowl quarterback (Donovan McNabb), was not truly successful, but was simply the beneficiary of a fawning media craving a successful black quarterback, know nothing about football, know nothing about race, and most certainly know nothing about Philadelphia sports fans. They booed Santa Claus at halftime of an Eagles game.

Here is the latest in an ongoing series. The race card is quite common on the right. The only thing more blatant is the hypocrisy of accusing the left of being the true culprits.

Incidentally, the main point of the article in the first link, is the right wing outrage at Obama's bow to the Japanese emperor. More sound and fury brought to you by that zany crew who told us that the President speaking to schoolchildren amounted to intolerable indoctrination and brainwashing.

For the record, Richard Nixon bowed to Mao Tse Tung. Check the Youtube video at about 1:24.

Or how about President Eisenhower? Ike was always bowing, the man was incorrigible. Rumour has it that his Secret Service code name was waist-bender. Photos at the end.

The truth does have a liberal bias.

It's no fault of the president that he has no natural instinct or blood impulse for what the America of "the 57 states" is about. He was sired by a Kenyan father, born to a mother attracted to men of the Third World and reared by grandparents in Hawaii, a paradise far from the American mainstream.

GUESS NOONE WANTS TO PLAY YOUR SILLY RACE CARD GAMES.

momo commented on Wednesday, Nov 18, 2009 at 21:31 PM

No one is playing because they see how serious of a hand he is holding. Would you sit down to a hand of poker whan the person at the table is already showing a royal flush?

hey Anthony did you see the racist on Lathrop Rd with the confederate flag now has two. He took down the POW/MIA flag and replaced it with the another confederate flag. Why no American flag I do not know and most likely claims to be a real American.
I also noticed we have another one right here in Manteca off Lathrop road and Union area flying over the home.
And they claim that we no longer have racist among us.

anthony002 commented on Thursday, Nov 19, 2009 at 11:31 AM

I just find it interesting that the usual critics of "traitors" have no problem with people who proudly fly the symbol that represents the most egregious act of treason ever committed against our republic.

But the first amendment protects all ideas. We must always remember that.

midwestgirl commented on Thursday, Nov 19, 2009 at 12:26 PM

Even if they are narrow ides we do.

Growing up in the mid-west my father I am sorry to say in the early years was very racist but changed as he aged. He grew up on the south side of Chicago just like Michelle Obama and from the stories things were tense in that area during the 40-50's.
As I mentioned he changed as he aged. Voted for Obama prior to his death this year.
A funny story from a few years ago, one day Dad, brother and nephew who is half Hispanic were at the DMV. A older white man started talking to dad and started complaining about how the MEXICAN'S are taking everything over. Dad leaned over hugging my nephew and said Yeah it is so bad they took over my family.
Needless to say this insulted the man and he moved dad and my brother could not help but laughed at him.

I myself love the diversity of our family. More than half are now Hispanic and bring some great tradition to the mix.

"Even if they are narrow ides we do." Dawn, what the heck does that even say??? Hey, are the "more than half" of your family that are "Hispanic" athiests as well??

republ_i_can commented on Thursday, Nov 19, 2009 at 14:49 PM

oops i mean atheist

anthony002 commented on Thursday, Nov 19, 2009 at 16:28 PM

Ah yes, the "white guilt" theory. More right wing fiction with absolutely no basis in fact.

sickoflibs commented on Thursday, Nov 19, 2009 at 18:31 PM

The biggest racists in this country are the liberals. Why on earth do you think they voted in Obama. He wasn't voted in because of his experience, infact he has less experience than Palin had. He was voted in so the liberals could feel good about themselves because they voted for a black man. And if they could have voted for a lesbian for vice president.... Nirvana.

And the most egregious act of treason ever committed against our republic was when Obama took the oath of office.

I had heard before that Liberalism is a mental disorder. I always thought that was an outragous statement. After reading Anthony 00 nothing, and his misguided friends I would have to say that I am now a believer.

midwestgirl commented on Thursday, Nov 19, 2009 at 22:45 PM

Sickoflibs it was George Bush who committed the treason when he took the oath in 2000 it was given to him by the supreme court.
Allowed 3 planes to crash and kill 3000 people 9/11
Or that he lied to us and took us into a war of profit IRAQ.
Lack of response to Katrina
Reagan also was treasonous when he illegally sold weapons to Iran and now look where we are. These were our enemies during the Carter years.
Believe what you want but Obama was elected by the majority of the people.

sickoflibs commented on Friday, Nov 20, 2009 at 10:54 AM

Midwestgirl, you should really widen your horizons and read. Your narrow partisan view is even more obscured by your lack of basic understanding of world affairs.

Goerge Bush was a lying cheating stealing piece of crap that never should have been voted into office. He was barely smart enough to tie his own shoes. That being said, Bill Clinton was a lying stealing piece of crap that never should have been voted into office.

You still don't get it. They ALL are. They have ALL sold our futures to the highest bidders and their only concern is their power. They stoped representing us decades ago, and you are schmuck enough to continue to do their bidding.

Get a clue.

anthony002 commented on Friday, Nov 20, 2009 at 13:22 PM

do you right wingers know how to do anything other than insult people?

republ_i_can commented on Friday, Nov 20, 2009 at 16:11 PM

So Dawn: when Bush "allowed" 3 planes to crash, are you going on the "9/11 was an inside job" theory or did he actually get a call from these guys and said "sure...i'll allow that"??

republ_i_can commented on Friday, Nov 20, 2009 at 16:19 PM

also I thought you were "I am trying to live in the present and leave the past behind" sounds like you're still having "past" issues. Let it go midwest dawn, they all wanted to die on 9/11 anyways, remember??

sickoflibs commented on Friday, Nov 20, 2009 at 16:41 PM

Anthony,

Wrong again. I am no moer right wing than you are.

I would think that you would get tired of being wrong all the time and get a life. Maybe get a job?

midwestgirl commented on Friday, Nov 20, 2009 at 16:45 PM

Never said it was an inside job. Just the results of us sticking our nose into other people business.

Bush just did not read or ignored the reports given to him by Clinton and those up until Aug of 2001.

Well unfortunately the past we are still dealing with in the present from the result of 30 years of "trickle down, voddo economics or what ever you call it.

I am still waiting on that list of positive results from the conservitive mentment.

republ_i_can commented on Friday, Nov 20, 2009 at 16:45 PM

I'm sure everytime Anthony says "you right wingers" he means it in the most respectful way.

republ_i_can commented on Friday, Nov 20, 2009 at 16:47 PM

dawn: what is the "conservitive mentment"??

republ_i_can commented on Friday, Nov 20, 2009 at 16:47 PM

and i'm still waiting for you to answer my questions on the opinion page.

midwestgirl commented on Saturday, Nov 21, 2009 at 09:50 AM

That is all you got!!!!!!! My spelling. No more insults.

anthony002 commented on Monday, Nov 23, 2009 at 10:39 AM

that's the crux of of it mwgirl, that is all they've got. sarcasm, insults and general hostility towards any opposing viewpoint.

then for good measure, they accuse us leftists of being the ones who are ideologically hostile to opposing viewpoints.

it is a classic case of projection.
