When We Win, We Win - When We lose, We Still Win

That pretty much sums up the spin from the right on last night's election results.

No matter the outcome. Even if the guy they supported, received fewer votes, they won.

Let me make it real simple. If Republican Tom Campbell happens to be California's next governor, his vote total will almost definitely include mine. I am sure that here in California as well as everywhere throughout our republic there are millions of citizens whose vote in a particular election cannot be pigeonholed or categorized according to prevailing partisan biases.

Does my future vote for Tom Campbell mean that I think the President is a socialist tyrant bent on destroying America? According to some of the right-wing spin masters, that is pretty much what last night's voting results mean.

As I mentioned previously, right wingers display a curious tendency to base their political predictions on emotions instead of facts. Fresh off their resounding "victory" in New York's 23rd Congressional district, the news this morning is that the far right teaparty crowd will be turning its attention to the California 2010 Senate race. The likely GOP nominee is not acceptable to the folks currently celebrating "victory" in NY23 last night. By the way, if you are scoring at home, the tea partiers are celebrating the victory of Doug Hoffman, independent conservative who lost the election in NY23 by 5 points.

Anyway, according to this morning's reports, those folks and their unique definition of victory will be making their way to California to take down Carly Fiorina who is planning on being the Republican candidate to oppose Barbara Boxer.

They want someone who is much further to the right than Fiorina and will follow the recipe favored by the teapartiers. Alienate the Hispanic vote by demonizing La Raza. Alienate the black vote by demonizing the NAACP. Alienate low income voters by demonizing ACORN. Alienate blue collar workers by demonizing SEIU. Alienate senior citizens by demonizing AARP. Ultimately, it will result in a far right Senatorial candidate coasting to victory here in blue California. At least, that's the plan. It is good to have a plan. I am pretty sure the Raiders have a plan to win all of their games by a 30 point margin. Having a plan, and having a realistic plan are two different things.

All I can say is that if the tea baggers are as successful in their far right challenge to Fiorina as they were in NY23 last night, there will be only one thing to say next November; congratulations on your reelection Senator Boxer.

Witness the madness for yourselves. They lost, but they really did win. Really....

Hoffman lost because of the 3rd party candidate. He would have won if that person dropped out. However, I do agree with you that Conservatives won, it's not about the race, it's about the future and party nutcases in charge.

Otherwise, the other thing I agree with you is, 'congrats to re-election' boxer! I'm so tire of the fake RINO's in this State, I'm sure you can see it.

Even though CA is a blue state, we're very different and many repubs will vote for dems and vise verse. I don't think I need to give a reason.

All these groups you mention, they are welfare voters. All of them with a personal grudge and issue because of the likes of Rev. Jackson and Sharpton, all of them bigots and racist idiots making money off of the backs of these people. Until these people can start doing things for themselves and stop putting down white people such as you do constantly, they are going to be continued to be looked upon as worthless, or in your words, 'demonizing'.

I can't wait for the the teabaggers to get here and show the state's Republicans who the correct candidate should be due to their inability to pick the correct candidate. It's about time someone got in the face of the Republicans and showed them that they continually pick the wrong representative, even when the candidate wins.

Keep splitting the conservative vote teabaggers, California is ripe for a right wing take over.

I saw a point made in one of the leftist blog sites I frequent. I think it bears repeating here.
