Feeding a family of 4 for $100 a week

Well, I am taking a week off this week. I threw my budget out the window and restocked my pantry and shelves, as well as stocked up on snacks and goodies. Once in a while you have to give yourself a break. Just like a diet, if you dont' give yourself a cheat day once in a while, you will eventually give up and quit the diet and reverse all the good progress you've made. So I decided to do that since I am exhausted and just didn't want to think about budgets for a day!
This will be my last blog anyway as it is obvious that the MB is not a place I want to associate myself with. So much negativity and sparring back and forth. At times it seems downright hateful! At a time when we should be trying to help one another and swap good ideas and share interesting or uplifting stories or comments, I see nothing but ugliness. So hopefully I will find a new home where there are others in my situation looking for support and ideas.

Frugalcleanfreak, thank you for providing us with some valuable tips and information. I don't have a family of four, but the principles you gave will work for any size family.

I'm sorry you are leaving. I understand your feelings and agree some of the people can be downright disagreeable.

I also wish you the best in your future endeavors.

I'm sorry that the events in the Bulletin left you frustrated,please do not go away with the idea that we are all apart of that negativity and sparring ,that in all honestly seems only to be occurring from People who are no longer even registered with the Manteca Bulletin ,but forum crashers.
We who do care about this online forum and certainly take pride in it,are very sorry to see any new comer offended by inappropriate behavior.This is not behavior that forum regulars want either,and we do what we can to rid our forum of it.
I do hope after a time ,you will decide to come back to our forum,for I read your blogs and admired the way you are able to stretch a penny (that's what I call getting more then your money's worth)
So thank you for your many helpful shopping tips.

I know exactly what you mean. But when I do that with money it always ends badly. I'll just go on a spending binge, buy ten books, a game, or something like that. Then people are like "hey want to go to the movies" and I'm just sitting there like "I just spent my last twenty dollars on this book damn it".
