If you look at the figures, you have the chances of getting a good result and a sharper kind of vision after you have a sound surgery. Similar is the case with other surgeries like LASIK or PRK procedures. However, if you have undergone any of the eye surgeries, it is vital to know a number of tips for quicker recovery after the eye surgery. Some of these are as under:

Resume your normal activities gradually

After you have any eye surgery especially like Lasik surgery, you are not likely to drive your car or any other vehicle. Hence you need someone to take you home after the surgery. After the surgery, you need to give your eyes and yourself enough time to rest before you resume your normal activities. Make sure you make your ways simple and take off from your work or school in order to get a complete rest and quicker recovery after the surgery.

Avoid playing any kinds of sports

After the surgery, you need to avoid any kind of sports whether you talk about contact sports or so, you are supposed to be away from them for at least a month. Though it may be plausible for you to take part in any non contact sports, yet you may find your depth perception and vision getting fully adjusted. This can put you at a risk of having object or person unintentionally hitting over your eyes that can created further complications after the surgery. Also, avoid the water sports and other types of water activities for at least a month for obvious reasons.

Do not forget to visit your doctors regularly

It is often recommended that you visit your doctor within a day after having surgeries like Lasik procedures followed by a number of times on a regular basis for not less than few months. Your doctor will check the progress in terms of healing and then prescribe you any kind of pain killers or eye drops if required just to avoid any kind of infection. You need to inform your doctor of any kind of unusual pain and the discomfort you have experienced after having the surgery, but need to understand the fact that issues like itching, burning, soreness and blurred vision would remain for a while during the healing process.

Consume the Prescribed Medication

After the surgery, your doctor had prescribed a number of medications and eye drops in order to lubricate your eyes, which will help in quicker recovery process. All these eye drops are really important for the recovery process and thus keep issues like discomfort and dryness at bay. You are supposed to use them on a regular basis as per your doctor’s instruction. The kind of eye drop you will use will vary from one patient to the other as some of the people would recover much faster than the others.

Take proper rest

The time after carrying out any eye surgery including Lasik procedure should be spent in relaxing and resting. This can include both your complete eyes and your body as well. Make sure you avoid things like reading, watching TV and working on your PC or laptop at least for 24 to 48 hours after the eye surgery. Always take a sleep after you had the surgery for obvious reasons.
